Bredonborough A day of gently

18.44

Bredonborough.

A day of gently moving to the future, in several areas.

From Curt's GC diary for Sunday.

My first indication that there was a problem occurred in the "green room" during the intermission. It was actually a public space and lots of people, strangers and friends, showed up --

The Green Room, in a theatre, is the actors' space. My Wife tells me that, for touring companies, the Green Room is actually used by the local theatre crew, who view it as very much their own area and may/may not welcome visiting actors into the space. It is also a de facto smoking area where tea & sandwiches are consumed amidst the fumes. For actors, a Green Room is primarily the actors/performers' area where they can meet family & friends.

In Guitar Craft, the Green Room has become a Quiet Room, a room for personal & group preparation prior to performance, and a space to consolidate & absorb the performance afterwards. The equivalent for actors would be a dressing room.

Probably, for GC future performances, there is now a need for two dedicated spaces: the Quiet Room, which is not available to society, and the Green Room, which is. If there is only one room available, the Quiet Room has a greater necessity.
